Under the direction of the Director of the Entrepreneurship Institute, the Programming & Events Intern will coordinate a variety of activities and programs focused on building a community and support for women entrepreneurs in Utah via the new UVU Women Entrepreneurs LIFT program under the Entrepreneurship Institute. The Programming & Events Intern will work closely under the Entrepreneurship Institute Director and admin, and in collaboration with the WE LIFT Programming & Events Intern, the Board Liaison & Admin Intern, and the student representative.

The Programming & Events Intern supports services, retention efforts and community resources for local women entrepreneurs. They will coordinate the details of all UVU WE LIFT events including lectures, discussion groups, networking events, service projects, program orientations, program socials, and collaborate with the Entrepreneurship Institute admin on relevant events.

This is a work-study position which will be eligible for work between July 1, 2020 and May 6, 2021. Schedule: Approx. 20 hours a week. Occasional evening events are required.

Duties as assigned by the Director and the department admin, including:

  • Schedule locations, order food, contact and support presenters and guests, coordinate event marketing and promotion with the WE LIFT Marketing & Sponsorship Intern
  • Coordinates day-of-event set up, management, and clean-up responsibilities
  • Works with the Entrepreneurship Institute admin to stay on budget for events and maintain appropriate records
  • Creates and executes trainings to prepare student leaders, staff/faculty partners, and/or community for their program experiences
  • Develops student leaders through training and regular mentoring during the course of performing their roles
  • Assists in developing strategies and templates to improve program quality effectiveness, accountability, and response to student and community partner needs
  • Reviews and evaluates programs and makes enhancements to improve effectiveness, learning outcomes and future offerings
  • Collaborates closely with other campus entities to provide a safe and supportive environment for women entrepreneurs
  • Represents the UVU WE LIFT program across campus and in the community
