This position will be responsible for maintaining the marketing for and assisting with fundraising development efforts for the new UVU Women Entrepreneurs LIFT program under the Entrepreneurship Institute. The Marketing & Sponsorship Intern will work closely under the Entrepreneurship Institute Director and admin, as well as Woodbury’s Major Gift Officer, and in collaboration with the WE LIFT Programming & Events Intern, the Board Liaison & Admin Intern, and the student representative.

The Marketing & Sponsorship Intern develops and executes marketing for services, retention efforts, and community resources for local women entrepreneurs. They will market the details of all UVU WE LIFT events including lectures, discussion groups, networking events, service projects, program orientations, program socials, and collaborate with the Entrepreneurship Institute admin on relevant events.

  • This is a work-study position which will be eligible for work between July 1, 2020 and May 6, 2021. Schedule: Approx. 20 hours a week.
    Duties, as assigned by the Director and the department admin, include:
  • Aid and assist in the content creation and design of marketing materials, including flyers, email, communications, newsletters, website, banners, etc.
  • Printing and distributing print materials
  • Help manage all social media platforms
  • Help pull together reports
  • Managing and organizing general email account
  • Managing touch-point/contact lists
  • Update website content
  • Assist with refining the program’s marketing plan
  • Assist with any additional marketing/sales related projects or duties
  • Data entry of all donations
  • Create and distribute gift acknowledgements
  • Follow up with donors (via letters, e-mails, phone, etc.)
  • Research and apply for potential grants
  • Research and recruit new potential donors
  • Maintain communication with past donors and supporters
  • Develop rapport with current and future donors and supporters
  • Assistance in soliciting donations for raffles, silent auctions, etc.
  • Create community-facing marketing materials to increase the flow of targeted donations
  • Solicit area businesses, service clubs, and faith-based organizations for in-kind donations and sponsorships
  • Develop unique strategies for engaging donors
  • Organize and track in-kind donations placed in storage
  • Work in donor database to pull reports and update donor data
  • Assist other departments as needed

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Entrepreneurship or related field

  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Indesign & Photoshop) a plus, but not required
  • Understanding of basic graphic design principles a plus
  • Experience with MailerLite a plus
  • Experience with Hootsuite a plus
  • Google Analytics knowledge a plus
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to interact with all types of demographics of people including staff, students, parents, and media members
